An Attempt at Free Verse

I was writing a story.
You came along,
pen in hand,
peered into my notebook,
and started writing with me.
You didn't even ask me first, but I conceded anyway.
My story changed - it had a brand new character in it now.
We went on writing, co-writing.
You started some new plot lines
and said we were supposed to complete them.
Together.
But then you left.
And I stopped writing.
After a while, I willed myself to continue.
(Took me some time, but I did it.)
The new plot lines were in place already, I realized.
Besides, I liked them.
So they stayed.
Now I'm completing them with someone else.
And you shouldn't have a problem with that.
